BRECHER, Marvin Marvin Herbert Brecher (Herb) of Minneapolis, MN passed away on May 25, 2014. A Memorial Service is planned for Wednesday, July 2nd starting at 12:30pm at the chapel of Walker Methodist Nursing Home at 3737 Bryant Ave, S, Minneapolis. Herb was born on February 14, 1944 in Prague, Czech Republic, to Gerhardt and Eleanor Brecher. He moved to the United States at age four and settled in Atlanta. He was a graduate of Emory University where he received bachelor's and master's degrees and completed all but his dissertation in pursuit of a Ph.D in psychology at Indiana University. Herb made an impression on all he met as being simply the kindest person one would have the pleasure of encountering. Despite struggling with schizophrenia, he managed to remain true to his center: a generous and kind human being through and through. He will be sorely missed. Herb is survived by his son Eric, daughter-in-law Natalie and their two children, Misha and Annika Lewellyn. He is also survived by his brother and family (Armin & Liz Brecher, children Lindsay, Stefan, and Alden and families) and his younger sister (Elizabeth Brecher & Alan Shnay, children Grayson, Cameron, and families).
