Robin Marks Obituary
Family-Placed Death Notice
Robin Elizabeth Webb Marks, age 45, of Atlanta, and a former resident of Athens, TN, died Monday, September 26, 2005, in Atlanta. She was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Dr. T.J. Burton, and paternal grandparents, Floyd D. and Brucie Webb. She graduated from Darlington School in Rome, GA in 1978, and graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1982. She was a member of Dunwoody United Methodist Church, and was associated with Keller-Williams Real Estate as a Sales Agent. Surviving are two sons, Edward Schaefer Marks, III, and John Hunter Marks, both of Atlanta; former husband and father of her children, Edward Schaefer Marks of Dunwoody, GA; parents, B. Dexter and Marian Burton Webb of Athens, TN; one sister and brother-in-law, Julie and Richard Brock of Greenville, SC; one brother and sister-in-law, Burton and Liz Webb of Athens, TN; maternal grandmother, Jewel Burton of Athens, TN. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Thursday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with Father Alan Cooke and Dr. Mike Womack, officiating. Interment will follow at the Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday immediately following the graveside service at the graveside. Pallbearers will be Cameron Zurbruegg, John Guin, Frank Carpenter, Jeff Cunningham, Chris Trew, Barry Willis, Bill Biddle, Joe Washington, Jr., and Benjamin Clark. The family suggests that memorials be made to the CHOE Foundation, 1687 Tullie Circle, Atlanta, GA 30329, Attn: Lisa Rutherford. Dear Marks Family,
I became friends with Robin when Hunter and Reece(my son) became friends at Camp Chalakee(Alabama)about 3 years ago. Robin and I became friends and shared alot of happy times together with Hunter and Reece. I am so sorry to hear about Robin and we will miss her very much. Hunter and Schaffer please call me anytime day or night if you need anything. Ed if my family can be of any help to you, please feel free to call on us.
God bless you all, and we will continue to keep your family in our prayers. Hunter and Schaffer please keep the prayer cloths that I gave you.

My sincerest condolences go out to the Marks' family. I knew Robin as a fellow Mom at MVPS, and she was a wonderful person and a blessing to all who knew her. Dear Hunter, I am so sorry to hear the sad news about your mom. All of us at school were very shocked and upset. She was so beautiful and really nice. Please know that you can always call me or my mom and we will always be there for you, if you need a ride or just a place to hang out for awhile. We love it whenever you're with us, because you are so much fun to be with. I know you will miss your mom. We will miss her, too. I'm so sorry for your loss. Robin was sweet, beautiful, kind, thoughtful, considerate, and a wonderful friend and mother. She will be sorely missed by all of her friends associated with Mount Vernon Presbyterian School. We adored her!

Robin was my first best friend growing up in Athens. Some of the best memories I have are of Robin and I playing. My deepest symphathy goes out to her family and friends. May God bring comfort to you all during this time of disbelief and sadness.

The Hampton family feels such complete sorrow. Among other nice memories, I will never forget the summer of '92 at the Branches' Pool. Robin and I eagerly awaited the births of our 2nd children while our older children played in the pool and in the park. Please know that you are all in our prayers.
