PATER, Sheila Margaret
June 24, 1947 - June 23, 2025
Sheila lived in Roswell Georgia from 1976-2022. She spent the remainder of her time in a memory care facility in Charleston, South Carolina. She devoted her life to raising her surviving son, Vittorio "Tori" Pater.
Sheila spent a majority of her career working in retail, specializing in fine china and silver. As a Sales Representative for Royal Doulton, a Department Manager at Macy's, and a Sales Representative at Beverly Brehmer's Silver Shop, Sheila brought a smile to every person she worked with, and her customers as well. After "retiring", the unstoppable Ms Pater worked at "Buy, Buy, Baby" until the store closing after Covid. She was a "people person", a "second mom" to most of Tori's childhood friends, and to know her was to love her.
Her passion for music was fed by performing with the Atlanta Symphony Chorus, under Robert Shaw, for 18 years. Sheila also spent years as a part of the Atlanta Choral Guild. An accomplished soprano, and 5 time Grammy winner, Sheila had performed concerts worldwide. Highlights include: the Olympics in Sydney Australia, the Vatican (for the Pope), the World's Fair, and several appearances at Carnegie Hall.
A "Sheila-bration" will be held at a favorite spot she and her son would frequent on August 3, 2025, from Noon- 4 PM, at From the Earth Brewing Company, 1570 Holcomb Bridge Rd., Roswell, GA 30076.
