GLADDEN, Yvonne Elizabeth "Libby" Yvonne Elizabeth "Libby" Gladden, 71, passed away March 26, 2018. Born February 6, 1947, in Atlanta, Libby was a 1965 graduate of Murphy High School. From an early age, she knew her own mind and blazed her own trail, traveling the world and pursuing a career with HUD before moving into commercial underwriting, where she continued to work until the time of her death. While Libby valued hard work, she made it clear that she considered her greatest assets to be her family and friends, who were lucky to benefit from her honesty, loyalty and clear-sighted wisdom. Libby was preceded in death by her parents, J.B. and Patricia Gladden, and sisters Jo Girone and Merrilee Williams. Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law Joe and Kalen Gladden; trusted friends Martha Moore and Keith Noerenberg; brother-in-law David Williams; nephew and niece-in-law Alan and Rosemary Crotts; nephew and niece-in-law Matt and Kati Williams; nephews Tim Williams and Michael Gladden; nieces Jennifer Ortiz, Sara "SB" Williams, and Rebekah Williams; niece and nephew-in-law Faith and Jeff Hortenstine; great-nieces Diana Meador and Sarah Jo Crotts; great-nephews Caleb, Andrew, and Stephen Williams; numerous cousins; countless friends; and, last but never least, her beloved Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Dante. Visitation at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 31, at Peachtree Corners Presbyterian Church, with memorial service to follow at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Angels Among Us Pet Rescue or PAWS Atlanta.
