Jeff Bryan Obituary

Jeff Bryan
3/22/2014

I am sad to announce that in the early hours of March 22nd, Jeff Bryan ended his adventure on earth to move on to his next adventure. Everyone who knew him knows this world is a sadder place without him but whatever is next will be enriched to have him part of it.
No one could live life like Jeff did, even when golf was no longer possible, so ever competitive, poker took its place, even winning a poker tournament in Reno. (By the way, he had 4 holes in one in his golfing days.)
He was a natural leader and at one time or another belonged to pretty much every local club and association, being the proudest at being accepted in the Auburn Fire Department as an Honorary Member.
Jeff was born and raised here in Auburn. He attended the local schools and Floral School in Denver, Colorado. He was the owner of Bryan's Auburn Florist until retirement in 2005.
Jeff is survived by: his wife Jeannie of 33 years, children Lisa Candiloro (John) of Pleasanton, Scott Bryan (Julie) of Foresthill, and Jeffery Bryan of Lincoln, sisters Patricia George of Berkeley and Linda Sewell (Jon) of Lake Oswego, Oregon, 4 special grandchildren; Alexa Bryan, Dominic Candiloro, Nina Candiloro and Cole Bryan, his mother Florence Bryan and many dear family members and friends.
A private graveside service will be held at the New Auburn Cemetery. A Celebration of Jeff's life will take place on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at the Martin Park Fire Station, 485 High St., Auburn, Calif.
Jeff would be honored to have donations in his name given to the Auburn Fire Department. Please sign the guestbook at www.chapelofthehills-auburn.com

Jeannie, We were so sorry to hear of Jeff's passing. He was such a fixture in the town at Bryan's Florist, known by everyone, and was always so gracious and generous there. He often surprised people, including us, by spontaneously presenting a rose or other flower to a customer--so sweet of him. We missed him when you sold the shop and still do. We are thinking of you and your family.

Jeff was always a kind and gentle man. My father use to buy all of our Easter and Christmas corsages from his dad before Jeff took over the Florist Shop. When my husband died, Jeff was there for me. I lost touch when I moved from Auburn, but I knew he was ailing for years. May his family find peace and strength. God Bless

Jeannie,
Sorry to hear of Jeff's passing. He was always quick with a smile and pleasant greeting. We will always be grateful for him (and you!) being there through the years, going the extra mile, especially for Erin and Jason's wedding day, a Sunday! There aren't many as kind and thoughtful as Jeff. Our condolences, Jon and Kelly Lardner

Dear Jeannie and Jeff's family, I was so glad that I was able to meet this most gracious man several years ago while working in the pharmacy at Long's. He always put a smile on my face because he always had one on his. I only wish that we could have produced a miracle for this deserving, kind man. Rest in Peace Jeff, you will be missed.

Dear Bryan Family,
thinking of you all and wishing you hope in the midst of sorrow, comfort with your heartache, and may the love of those around you, help through the days ahead.
I met Jeff when I was just out of high school at Bryans Florist while applying for delivery/gopher job and was hired by both him and his Dad, since Jeff was just taking over the business, his folks were still there and the whole family worked hard and loved work. I stayed there for just over a year and learned so much from Jeff about flowers and feelings, and how to better swing my favorite club, my 3 wood. When both my parents passed away 17 years ago, he not only brought flowers and plants, he stayed at each service to offer his help with anything. When my husband died suddenly, he was there at the service, he just walked up, took a hold of my elbow as I sobbed watching my children grieve there Dad, and he told me something that I never forgot, he said, "you will never get over this loss, but you will get through it, I promise" and it's so true to our hearts. RIP Dear Jeff. xo

My deepest sympathy to Jeannie and family. Jeff was an amazing man, but you already know that. I want to instead thank you for making his life so full. I loved the friendship that he had with my dad (Wayne Foote). Sharing trips to SF to pick up flowers each week was an amazing thing for "competitors". Funny, I never thought of us as competitors; more like friends. As Lisa said, those were the good old days and I am so happy that I was a part of that.

My condolences to Jeff's family. When my father died in 1980, I ordered flowers from Bryan's and Jeff delivered them to me. Though I didn't know him well in HS, he would not accept payment from me. Thank you Jeff for that sweet kindness on such a sad day. My father was just 59. I KNOW my dad is smiling and welcoming you.

Jeannie and family, I want to send my deepest condolences on the passing of Jeff. He was one stand up guy that fought until the end. I loved being friendly "competitors" in the floral business with him and Wayne Foote. It was fun back in the day! He will be greatly missed by myself and many more people in the floral industry.
Love to you, Lisa owner of Auburn Blooms Florist and previous owner of Meadow Vista Florist.

To Jeff's Family,
Bryan's Florist made a difference in Auburn for all the reasons we live here. The personal touch that our local businesses provide. Jeff was no exception. I relied on them for my wedding, birthdays, celebrations of life. I would just open the door and the bell would ring and Jeff would pop out and recongize me and from that moment on I knew whatever my mission was I was in good hands. I got to watch the staff prepare the unbelievable and extremely creative arrangements and oh the lovely smell would encompass you as you stepped through the door. He was a special gentlemen and loved by many. Yes, Jeff made a difference in our small community where we live, and worship, and shop.

Sincerely,
Bobbie Reagan

Jeff's character and values touched and influenced many during his time. Now released from these earthly bounds, those values and character traits will influence us from above. Jeff is certainly with God... may God also be with family and friends during this transition and beyond. Jeff was/is a good man. His memory will endure and become a beacon of decency for mankind. God knows he is resting in peace.
