Ronald Talmage Obituary

Ron passed away peacefully at his home in Rocklin, California on December 29, 2021, with close friends and family members, including his son Victor, by his side. He is survived by his son Victor, grandchildren Chelsea, Devon, Hope, and Blake, and his brother Rick Talmage. He is predeceased by his sister Darlene Smith, father Tom (Darwin Leroy) Talmage, and his mother Rose Talmage. Ron grew up in Mountain View, California. He graduated from Awalt High School in Mountain View where he played on the varsity basketball team and enjoyed many seasons of little league baseball. Throughout his life he enjoyed the outdoors, and enthusiastically pursued his passions for fishing and hunting, enjoying frequent fishing and hunting trips to the Lake Tahoe area where his family's beloved cabin was located. He particularly enjoyed fishing and sharing with family and friends his special spots and techniques along the Truckee River and at various Sierra Nevada lakes and reservoirs, including Boca and Prosser. His fishing skills were legendary as well as his yelp of "Fish on" when he "pro-hooked" a sizable rainbow or brown trout. Ron's outgoing nature and love of sharing his skills and strategies were not limited to fishing and hunting, he was well-known in northern California card (poker) rooms where he, likewise, shared his skills and strategies and enjoyed his people. Ron's cooking talents were also legendary, particularly his barbecued scampi. Ron truly followed his interests and passions throughout his life and gained tremendous joy and satisfaction sharing and teaching them to others and then seeing their successes. Ron's spirit, friendship, and generosity will be missed by many! May he rest in peace!
