Father Nacca started me as an altar boy when I was 6 years old. I think that's the youngest anyone's started at St. Francis. I can still hear him calling me "Joey". I spent a lot of Sundays and after-schools listening to Father talk about doing good for others and appreciating God's work. He was right. I'll always remember the bus trips and outings. I can still remember what he used to say, "Look, Joey...isn't what God gave us beautiful?" How many of us still remember getting picked up from school in the old, cold church bus for religion classes at the church? Father Nacca cared about us kids growing up and being good people. I hope we all didn't disappoint him. And I know growing up that we all hated to have our cheeks pinched. But looking back, I know now it was Father's way of saying he cared. His kindness to others and devotion to God is truly an example to follow. My deepest and most sincere condolences to his family.

To the St. Francis Family:

About three weeks ago my brother and I visited our uncle Fr. Nacca at the nursing home. While in the common area and seated in a wheel chair he started to talk about you. It was such a special moment of grace that my brother told me to take notes. In an old warm and loving voice in the presence of my brother and myself, he gave all of you his final blessing "God bless them. God blessed that parish....In a way we should have done more...The people deserve all the
credit. " Now through the miracle of the internet you know that you were in his thoughts and prayer to the end, His joy was in you and in his priesthood.

I doubt that he was aware that you would ever know of that last fatherly blessing but he gave it.

You were his family. My brother and I are blessed to be permitted to share with you in that family.

No one influenced my life more than
father John. His sermons were second to none, as was his love for God and his parish. He loved my family, and paid special attention in converting my wife.
I had a son born in critical condition and was brought to syracuse in intensive care. He turn
real bad, and my wife turned to Father John for prayers. The next day the nurse told me that some priest was praying over the baby all
night, that very day my son started to get better. Thank yor Father, we will never forget you, and will love you forever

While attending St Francis School my older brother, my younger sister, and I made a point to try and see Father every day if we could. The way he would twist your cheek and then run his hand over your head was special. I personally loved to listen to him speak in church. My family will miss Father deeply. He was a special person who loved God and all his children.

While attending St Francis School with my older brother, my younger sister, and I made a point to try and see Father every day if we could. The way he would twist your cheek and then run his hand over your head was special. I personally loved to listen to him speak in church. I can remember one time coming back from the falls after our First Communion trip we were a bit noisy. Sister told us to be quiet because we would wake Father. He was driving the bus and boy we didn't make a peep all the way home.I still remember that prank he played on us to this day. My family will miss Father deeply. He was a special person who loved God and all his children.

Father Nacca was a very rare man. For most of my elementary school yrs I went to Herman Ave. as did another student. Father Nacca paid for a taxi (out of his own pocket) every week for many yrs for us to be able to attend religious ed at St. Francis.
I can not think of Howe Cavern's or Niagra Falls without thinking of the many times that I went with Father Nacca on that school bus.
He had a way of making each child feel special & loved.
God Bless you Father Nacca.

To the family of Father Nacca, my deepest sympathy on the loss of a great man and priest..He made us all better Catholic, by showing us how to love and serve Jesus. I'll always remember the class trips and serving mass for him. Father if you can read this what I'm sure you can, that last twist of my cheek and love tap, still hurts. You will be sadly missed.
