Joseph Caci Obituary

WATERLOO | Joseph Michael Caci, Jr., 74, of 125 E. Elisha St., died Friday, March 1, 2013, at his home with family by his side. Friends may call 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. The funeral service will be 12:30 p.m., March 5, at the funeral home. The Rev. James Fennessy, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, will officiate. Military rites will be performed by members of Waterloo Memorial Post 6433, V.F.W. and Warner Van Riper Post 435, American Legion at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Waterloo. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Waterloo Memorial Post 6433, V.F.W. , 29 W. Elisha St., Waterloo, 13165 or Pathway Home, P.O. Box 516, Seneca Falls, 13148. Joseph was born April 2, 1938 in Auburn, the son of Joseph M. Sr. and Antoinette Messina Caci. He was a 1957 graduate of West High School in Auburn. Joe served his country in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1961. He was employed from 1966 to 1994, retiring after 28 years of service with NYSEG. He was a life member of Waterloo Memorial Post 6433, V.F.W. and Warner Van Riper Post 435, American Legion. Joe was also past post commander for Waterloo Memorial Post 6433, V.F.W. He was a long time communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was a member of NYSEG Quarter Century Club. An avid sportsman, he was a member of the Waterloo Sportsman's Club. Joe was a very loving husband and a devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Barbara J. Hauf Caci; sons, Joseph Caci, of Boston, Mass., and Paul (Shannon Cali, fiancee) Caci, of Geneva; daughters, Anita Caci, of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Alison (Howard) Clark, of Lyons; grandchildren, Michael Conklin, Alexis Clark and Abbey Clark; brothers, Phillip Caci, of Auburn, and Dominic Caci, of Ocala, Fla.; brother-in-law, Wilfred Harris, of Auburn; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Angelo Caci; and one sister, Helen Harris. Condolences may be sent to the family at coegenungfuneralhome.com.
