Charles Henry Stone

Ret. B.E.&K. Construction EDGEFIELD, S.C. - Mr. Charles Henry Stone, 79, of Martintown, Rd., died Sunday, January 9, 2005 at Edgefield County Hospital. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Republican Baptist Church with burial in Peach Haven Cemetery. Mr. Stone was retired from B.E.&K. Construction Co. and was the owner of Charlie Stone's Country Hams. He was a former State House Representative of South Carolina for two terms. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and The Korean War. He was a Mason, a member of the American Legion and a member of Republican Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Edith Hammond Stone; one son, Tommy Stone, Johnston; one daughter, Deborah S. Prater, Edgefield and five grandchildren, Sarah and Elizabeth Stone and Victoria, Nicole and Nicholas Prater. The family is at the home of his daughter on Martintown Rd. and will receive friends Tuesday, January 11, 2005 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Edgefield M ercantile Funeral Home.
