AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Geneva Philpot Meriweather, of Augusta, entered into rest Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at the residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 5, 2005 at 2 p.m. at New Springfield Baptist Church, Alexander, GA with Rev. Oscar Olin Brown, Jr., officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. She was a native of Burke County, a member of New Springfield Baptist Church and employed as a L.P.N. at West Lake Manor Health Care Facility. Survivors are four daughters, Octavia Philpot, Atlanta, Sonya Philpot, Kiva Philpot, Augusta Veronica (Jimmy) Henderson, Beech Island, SC; two step-daughters, Gwendolyn Denise Solomon and LaMesha Solomon, Augusta; one son, Lavelton Philpot, Augusta; one sister, Ella Mae (J.C.) Hamrick, Augusta; one brother, Elroy Philpot, Augusta and 14 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
