My name is Scott Chappell. I was Matt's music teacher years ago at Aiken Elementary. Matt was an excellent student and certainly worked hard. He certainly gave the ultimate sacrifice and has all of my respect for that. You all are and will continue to be in my prayers.
Sincerely,
Scott Chappell

Now I see the time we had before
Was just a passing moment that we can't share anymore
And I've learned that written words are not the same
As when you take the time to say it and let the clouds release the rain
And I wish my dreams alone could bring back my old friend
But yesterday is just something I can't mend
And I've broke down for my lost brother, and I've died for mamma too
Now my tears fall down for you, for you
And I say one thing each day, before I lay me down
I thank god for your sweet smile although you're not around
And I can't overcome your memory in my mind
It's a bridge I'll never cross until the end of time
And I wish my dreams alone could bring back my old friend
But yesterday is just something I can't mend
Cause I've broke down for my lost father, and I've cried for sister too
Now my tears fall down for you, for you

When the pain is so great that you cannot find the words to say a prayer; When your heart is so heavy that you cannot move your lips to ask; When you think that you do not have a prayer: GOD hears you.... I am so sorry for the loss of your son & brother. My heart aches for you all. I just want you to know that I appreciate the sacrifice that your son made for our country and he will live on forever. Your son is a true hero. I will hold you all up in prayer. GOD BLESS YOU ALL and Thank you for all your son did in the name of peace
