Paul Posey Obituary

GRANITEVILLE, S.C.- Answered Gods call, Saturday, February 15, 2003, Mr. Paul M. Posey of Graniteville, beloved husband of Marie Jennings Posey and son of the late John Martin Posey and the late Lillie Arthur Posey. In addition to his wife, he is survived by their daughter, Paula Lee Posey of Bozemann, Montana, a brother, Dudley T. Posey of North Augusta, a sister, Grace Posey Busbee of Aiken, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Posey was born in and was a lifelong resident of Graniteville. He was a co-owner and retired funeral director for J.M. Posey & Sons Funeral Homes, managing the Langley location for many years and serving as Chairman of the Board until 1982. He was a member of the Graniteville First Baptist Church, the American Legion Post 153 in Bath, the S.C. Funeral Directors Association, the North American Trail Ride Conference and the American Endurance Ride Conference. He was World War II Veteran having served in the U.S. Coast Guard Mounted Patrol. The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, February 18, 2003 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Hendricks, Rev. Barbee Parsons and Rev. Stephen Phillips officiating. The interment will follow in the Graniteville Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Donnie Bowers, Martin Posey, Stephen Posey, George Alexander, Keith Bowers, Paul Bowers, Bobby Hilliard, Curtis Hilliard, Joel Posey, Lannie Goff and Stephen Varga-Sinka. The Honorary pallbearers will be Nursing Assistants who were very faithful to Mr. Posey, Carolyn New, Marie Ammons, Mae Liza Issac, Frances Jordan and Marilyn Chalker. I would just like to say "thank-you" to Mr. Posey for his love. At the young age of 9, I had the opportunity to get to know this man. This part of my life will never be forgotten. My deepest sympathy to his wife and family.
