Dear Kroger family,
I had the honor of meeting you all during a respite stay at St. Joseph's. I was the night nurse that encouraged bringing the dogs (Go Dawgs!) to see Ray. You all were one of those rare families that meshed so well with love and faith that the Spirit of God was so palpable. The room was electric with His Grace. I know that will continue and sustain you all now. I wish I could bottle what you all had and give it to everyone. It was magic. God bless Ray and continue to bless you all through this time.

To the Kroger family:
My sympathy is with you at this time of your loss. I taught Ray in a Dale Carnegie class while he was at Millikin. Later, I met him again when he attended daily mass at St. Teresa's at the old church on Pleasant Home Road. He had not been diagnosed with ALS as yet then but learned of it shortly thereafter. He was a fine young man. He remained upbeat during this time, despite all he had been through. Anyone who knew him will miss him. His passing is everyone's loss.
