Virginia Pippen Obituary

WAGENER, S.C. - Mrs. Virginia Corbett Pippen, 85, entered into rest Saturday October 16. Mrs. Pippen was born in Wagener. She was the daughter of the late Leroy and Essie Kennerly Corbett. Mrs. Pippen was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth W. Pippen, Sr. and also preceded in death by brothers Booster Corbett and Sonny Corbett and sister Doris Maggio. She graduated Lander College and taught school at Dunbarton and Perry schools. She worked for the FBI during WWII and retired from the DSS office in Aiken. Mrs. Pippen was a member of First Baptist Church of Wagener. Mrs. Pippen is survived by her daughter, Janis P. Wadsworth of Wagener; son, Wayne Pippen of Wagener; son and daughter-in-law Stephen and Donna Pippen of North Augusta; grandchildren, Jenny Wadsworth Browder, Rhett Wadsworth, Brian W. Pippen, Lauren E. Pippen, Joseph Pippen Michael Pippen and Daniel Pippen; great-grandchild, Charles Kevin Browder, Jr.; sister, Eloise Hiott of Cayce and brother, Kennerly Corbett of West Columbia. The family will receive friends Monday, October 17 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Blizzard Funeral Home, 153 South Main St., Wagener (803) 564-5333 . Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 19 at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Wagener, with viewing 1 hour prior to service. Burial will be in the Wagener Cemetery. Rev. David Robinson will officiate. Pallbearers will be Rhett Wadsworth, Brian Pippen, Joseph Pippen, Michael Pippen, Kevin Browder and Troy Williams. Sign the guestbook at AugustaChronicle.com

SORRY TO HEAR OF MS VIRGINIA'S PASSING. BUT WE KNOW SHE IS IN A BETTER PLACE AND SHE'S TOGETHER WITH HER LOVED ONES MR KENNY, RHONDA AND THE GOOD LORD IN HEAVEN. MY PRAYERS AND SYMPATHY GOES OUT TO ALL THE FAMILY.
