JACKSON, S.C. - Funeral Services for Mr. William T. Poteat, 66, who entered into rest December 8, 2013, will be conducted Thursday evening at 6 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel. Rev. Rich Bowen officiating. Interment will be private. Mr. Poteat was a native of Augusta, having made Jackson his home for the past 15 years. He worked as a General Contractor and enjoyed fishing. Mr. Poteat was an extremely giving person who loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Georganne C. Poteat; a son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Angela Poteat, Jackson, SC; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Duane Lively, Aiken, SC and Tracey and George Dohn, Jackson, SC; two sisters, Sadie Newsome, Garden City, SC and Bobbie Ann Howard, Augusta, GA; 8 grandchildren, Nathan Lively, Jennifer Lively, Amanda Reynolds (Tony), Christian Dohn, Ashlyn Dohn, Caleb Dohn, Brandon Poteat (Michelle) and Justin Poteat; 4 great-grandchildren, Natalie Lively, James Lively, Jacob Reynolds and Addisyn Poteat; sister-in-law, Katie Ellis. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
