Robert E. Carey Jr.

1944 - 2023

Robert E Carey Jr., of Big Rock, formerly of Aurora passed away Sunday February 19, 2023 at HaborChase in Naperville with his wife Angela by his side. He was born on May 28, 1944, in Aurora the son of the late Robert Sr. and Angela (Kammes) Carey. Bob graduated from Batavia High School in 1962. On April 23, 1994 Bob and Angela were united in marriage in Lake Tahoe, CA. He retired from the Illinois Department of Transportation in 2000. Bob was known to be a car enthusiast. He enjoyed helping others whether it was driving equipment in the local parades or just giving a helping hand. Survivors included his wife Angela (Flood), his step daughter Nicole (Cesaer Michael) Enverga, brother-in-law Leonard (David Olsen) Flood, daughter Deborah Webb; his brother David Carey (Laura Lindoo) his sister Susan (Richard) Ayers, granddaughters Carrie Webb, Sarah (Ryan) Root; and several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his son Michael Carey and his brothers George Carey and Charles Carey. Visitation will be held Sunday February 26, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at The Healy Chapel, 370 Division Dr., Sugar Grove, IL 60554. Funeral services will be held Monday February 27, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. A private interment will follow at Green Lake Center Cemetery, Green Lake, WI.
