Robert Chick

1922 - 2015

Robert W. Chick, 92, of North Aurora, IL passed away on Saturday April 18, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was born July 23, 1922 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania the son of Harry and Ruth (Wells) Chick. He proudly served his country with the U.S Army during WWII. He was employed as a switchman for the Burlington Northern Railroad for 42 years. Bob enjoyed horseback riding, swimming, a good game of golf, and playing cards, especially Bridge. He is survived by his wife Virginia of 73 years, daughters, Sharron Martin, Pamela (Allen) Lloyd, Monica (Mark) Kreiter; grandchildren; Craig (Lorraine) Martin, Jennifer Martin, Darlene (Nate) Lloyd, Kevin Lloyd, and Luke Kreiter and one great-granddaughter Victoria Lloyd. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Betty (the late Jack) Gibbins, brother Hugh (Etta) Chick and son-in-law Ron Martin. Family will be receiving guests on Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 10:00am until the time of service at 12:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL. Interment will follow at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery, Aurora, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the Fourth Street United Methodist Church, Aurora, IL.
