Debra Ann Marie Chick was born on February 24th, 1973. She transitioned from this world into the glory of eternal rest on February 13th, 2026, at 6:42 pm. She was 52 years old. Debra Ann is survived by her husband Steven Chick, her mother Caroline Brown, her son Daniel Spencer, her sister Gail Elizabeth, her brother Andrew Brown, her niece Gyenyame Brown, her great nephew Emanuel Brown, beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts, dear friends, and her cherished church family.
Debra Ann migrated to the United States, along with her siblings, in 1989. She graduated from Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn, New York. Debra Ann also attended Kingsborough Community College in New York, where she pursued studies in early childhood education. Debra Ann relocated to Manchester, New Hampshire, in 2000, where her life and purpose bloomed. She spent her life joyfully teaching, serving, and guiding children. It was her passion. Her divine gift with children was unwaveringly and enthusiastically executed at her home church, Hope Tabernacle, under the covering of Pastors George and Grace Rosado. Debra Ann loved children. She loved their souls. She led them to Jesus. It was her calling. Debra Ann also facilitated Vacation Bible School, Children’s Sunday School, Church Nursery, and the Children’s Choir.
Debra Ann exemplified Matthew 19:14 - “But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” She also served as a part of the Breakfast Ministry for the unhoused. Debra Ann continued to follow her passion at ‘We Play Pre School’ in Manchester, NH, where she was employed for fifteen years.
Debra Ann also enjoyed hair dressing and creative wig design as a hobby. She was very talented. Another inexhaustible hobby was cooking. She was an undeclared, unofficial chef. If you have ever tasted her cooking, you would agree.
Debra Ann and Steven Chick have been married for ten years, since 2015. Debra Ann and Steve served faithfully at their local church, Hope City Church, as deacons, also serving in the usher board, under the leadership of Pastors John and Evelyn Rivera. Her husband, Steve, describes her as the most loving wife. Her friends and family agree that she was selfless and merciful. This scripture describes her life legacy perfectly: “It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known.” (Romans 15:20)
What was once only an ambition became her passion and ministry. Debra Ann was not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She declared it boldly.
As Paul said in Romans 1:16, - “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes,”
She exited this world, sharing the gospel with the medical staff, and leading her nurse to salvation through Jesus Christ. One life, many souls. Thank you, Debra Ann, for spending your life for Jesus Christ and others. Many will eat of the fruit of your labor.
