Perry Combes Obituary

Perry Taylor Combes

Born: September 17, 1950 | Died: January 23, 2025

Perry Taylor Combes left our world on January 23, 2025, and is now building ponds for ducks to visit, collecting snakes and other reptiles to study, and running around the hills in Heaven, free from pain.

Perry was born on Long Island, NY and moved to Jonas Ridge in 1990 to live with his mother, Nina Combes, upon the passing of his father, Jack Combes. Perry loved the NC mountains and the community of which he was part in the Gingercake Acres neighborhood and Jonas Ridge community. A true individualist, Perry had an inquisitive mind and approached all challenges as an opportunity to engineer a solution. Perry's parents raised their three children to see nature and the environment as treasures to be protected. Perry never let go of his appreciation for and curiosity about all creatures.

Surviving are two sisters, Deborah Combes Cesta (Jim) and Melissa Nina Combes, both of Winston-Salem; and nephews, David Augustus Combes Cesta and Wills Caldwell Combes.

A private family gathering to remember our brother will be held at our family home at some point in the future. Memorials may be given to the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy, 372 Merrimon Ave., Asheville, NC 28801.
