I'm one of the blessed people that received one of Barry's organs. I remember my doctor saying that Barry's liver was the healthiest he had ever seen.

Almost nine years later I'm still taking care of this gift of life and after 13 years of being sick I'm now a healthy man because of Barry.

Not a day goes by where I don't remember you. You were an excellent friend and an asset to the unit; I only wish I could've attended your final hours. I pray that your family is doing well and that they continue lighting the fire of your memory. I hope we get to meet again in the next life. Rest in peace, my friend!

my angel in disguise, sent from god above.
I believe he sent you to me, to give you all my love.
Your words to me are a wonder, a source of pure delight,
I hear them in my mind at day, and in my dreams at night.
Its like your always with me, right here by my side..
If you ever go away...my tears I could not hide.
Your my inspiration, your my guiding star
My heart is calling out your name, no-matter where you are
Every day, is not a moment I don’t think of you.
I treasure every minute, that we spend together...
so hard I tried to make you see,
too late now... just a memory.
Now I have a broken heart, even though were not apart.
Love you , my son, you are in my heart to stay , were you came from
God made you, and I help out , from my body you were made
Your mother and your dad love you always.

WHY? ~~~~
Perhaps one day we’ll understand
Why God decided to take your hand
and lead you into Heaven above
surrounded by his tender love.

No more to see your smiling face,
Nothing will ever take its place,
in our hearts you will always stay,
our life has change for us,
The holidays are not the same without you Barry
Today is your birthday again
4-7- 2010
You would have been 24 years old today
But you will always be 22 years old to me
Only in heaven you will be 24 years old,
Because you are alive in heaven, not this world
I miss you son, by big bear
Police Officer 8851
Until that day, we must live our lives
Ensuring each memory of you and I feel your presence,
each time I shed each painful tears and I hope it make me stronger.
Love always your father & mother Barry Scott Sir & Ruth Scott

It seems like a lot longer than a decade ago that we met at Stapley, Barry. It had been four years since I had seen you when I read the paper and found out the tragic news. It brought me back to the days right after David had died and how you helped me through that. I miss those simpler times, man. You'll be loved and missed.

Today is the one year anniversary of your death brother. I can't believe it has already been so long. I feel like you just left me yesterday. Things have gone so wrong since you left us. I know you are looking out for Amber and Kyler and it shows in your son's eyes. He looks just like you. I miss you so very much and wish I could have spent more time with you. I have not left Amber's side as I promised to you at your bedside. I love you very much.

I will love you forever and you will live on forever. You were a very compasionate person to everyone and especially to children all the kids seem to want to play with you, you would alway's lend a hand. I liked it when you were alway's inquisitive and asked lot's of questions, you had the right mind to do the right thing and the Phoenix Police Dept. was your calling where you could do the most good for your community. It is quite evident that the people you touched were affected. Son, I and all of your family will truly miss you in every way. I will never say goodby to you.

Dear Barry's family:
While searching for the outcome of my Grandmother's friend of the same last name, I happened across Barry's obituary. Being a long time ER nurse, it saddens me to see one of "our finest" fallen. Though I never knew Barry, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. God Bless you all, keep him alive in your pride for him, and never forget who he was-a true hero.

Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him and have been called according to His purpose.

Although we don't know God's specific plan, He obviously had one. Barry accomplished more in his short life than most people do in a lifetime. This man had a servants heart, in more ways than one! What a HERO! We are proud of you.

Through all of this, we have learned how precious time is. With a heavy heart, we sincerely regret that we did not have the opportunity to spend more time with you, Barry. What a lesson to learn.

May God bless your family, and may you continue to rest in peace!

We love you.

My dear brother I still don't know what to say. It was just over a year ago that we met and became so close. You always had a smile on your face and a positive outlook for everything. You wanted to make up for the past but I told you let's live for today. I am so happy I told you that and we got a chance to know each other.
I am more thankful than anyone can know that I was able to be apart of your life this last year and now I have your wife and son in my life. I was so proud that you asked me to be Kyler's godmother. It is a task I will always relish and do with pride. Amber will always be my sister.

I love you brother. I will miss your smiling face. I will look at Kyler and see you in him.

Theresa Ortiz

September 25, 2008

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, ""I welcome you.""

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......""My day was not in vain.""
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Never having lost a child, I can not comprehend how to cope with such a tragedy. A parent should never have to burry a child, a child of any age. I was always told that the order of things are that parents go first….but things do happen and children do pass away before there parents. In my life time I have felt the loss of many close friends and relatives. But then I realize that I still carry the memory of those that I have lost, and in my mind and in my heart they are still alive. So take heart in knowing that Barry will never be lost to you or your family, friends and anyone he touched with his life. You raised a fine young man, and that is what will be remembered. My heart goes out to you my friend and to your whole family. And even though I cannot be there for the funeral, please know that I will be there in my heart. May god bless you and your family.

Barry,
It's difficult to come into briefing and not see your smiling face sitting in front of me. Every night you were clearly happy to be there. I know I speak for the whole squad when I say that you will be greatly missed. We are working through this, and we will continue to support eachother however, there will always be a void that cannot be filled.
You truly are a hero, in every meaning of the word. I have so much respect for you and everything that you have done for your country and community.
It is an honor to have known you, and a pleasure to have worked with you.
You have a beautiful family. The squad and I were happy to get to meet and get to know everyone who came to the hospital. My heart goes out to each and every one of you.
Every morning while we were there, it was extreemly difficult to leave. After all, you never leave a man behind. And when we finally did leave, we couldn't wait to get back. It just felt better to be there, all of us together as a squad.
We miss you Barry.
Until we meet again, your Sergeant,

Lil Barry,
I will miss you very much. Who knew your time with us would end so soon. I can only hold on to the wonderful memories you left us with. I still rememeber the time grandpa asked you to lead us in prayer, you must have been about 7-years old. You prayed for Batman and Robin, we all cracked up. You made it seem so innocent but at the same time it seemed you intentionally wanted to make us laugh, that was your style and I will greatly miss it.
