Daniel Mer Obituary
Daniel Brandon Bruce Mer, died in his sleep on May 22, 2015. Eldest son of Dr. S. Bruce and (the late) Merrill Mer; brother to Stephanie (Peter), Andrew, and Aric (Amy); fond uncle of Alexander, Christopher, Cameron, and Maxwell; friend to many; Dan to his friends; Danny to his family. Equal parts brilliant and entertaining and frustratingly larger than life. Danny followed his passion for the arts, especially music and comedy and forged a successful career as a partner of the Comedy Improv in Tempe, AZ. We love you, we miss you, and wish you peace. There will be a family memorial.

I still remember the fabulous night, that WE had, when Dane Cook performed. We took a limo to dinner and the Celebrity theatre.

RIP Dan. I knew Dan for many years as he had a huge hand in making the Tempe Improv the top comedy club in the country. He was a great friend, mentor, and supporter in a crazy business .... and one that he absolutely loved. I will always remember your passion for comedy, music, and a great laugh with friends. See you in the green room my friend .....

I was Dan's in-house publicist at the Improv in 2001 & 2002. The thirteen months I worked for him gave me some of the most memorable experiences of my working life. He was a brilliant & loyal man to whom I owe a great deal & who I will always remember fondly. My condolences to his family & many friends.

I was always so fond of Danny...from childhood spring breaks on Longboat Key to attending his Keith Prom with him; all happy memories. And although I haven't seen him for many, many years, I will miss just knowing he's in this world. I'm so very sorry for your loss.
