Edward Morrow Obituary

Morrow, Edward Thomas "Tom" II
passed away peacefully at the age of 81 on August 17, 2016 in Naples, Florida with his loving family by his side. Born in Omaha, Nebraska, he graduated from the University of Nebraska (Omaha) in 1959, served in the US Army, and spent his early career in the advertising business. His curiosity and entrepreneurial spirit was an inspiration to his family and the many lives he touched over the years. Tom was passionate about learning, art, travel, jazz, and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. But what he was most passionate about was his family. He will be best remembered for his contributions and service to the Scottsdale, Arizona community and to the art world. He and Ann Fuller Morrow co-founded the Celebration of Fine Art in Scottsdale in 1991. A visionary, leader, and mentor in Scottsdale for more than 35 years, he continued his service to community in his retirement in Cumming, Georgia where he lived for seven years, and in Naples for the past two years. There he served on the Friends of Art board for Artis-Naples, and the board of SCORE Naples as a marketing expert and mentor to entrepreneurs. On his life journey, he enjoyed traveling to many places in the world, and just in May took a family trip to visit his roots in Ireland. He was the loving husband of Ann Fuller Morrow for 37 years; proud father of Ann Morrow Hester and husband Lamar of Cumming, Georgia; Doug Morrow and wife Kathy of Phoenix, Arizona; and Susan Morrow Potje and husband Jake of Scottsdale, Arizona. He was also the loving step father of Gene Fuller and wife Deana, grandchildren Morgan, Daniel and Jack Fuller of Vermillion, South Dakota; and step father of Carrie Fuller, grandchildren Laurel and Madison Smith of Phoenix, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward T. Morrow and Ann Garvey Morrow, and half sister Jane Brazda. In lieu of flowers, donations in remembrance of Tom can be made to SCORE Naples or to Scottsdale's Museum of the West. A celebration of his life is planned in Scottsdale for family and friends in September.

It was a privilege to know Tom. He was our parking lot enforcer and sooo much more. The Celebration of Fine art gave me to opportunity to have my paintings reach people that wouldn't have known about me otherwise. There was more than just the art connection. His humor, and guiding hand showed his softer side and over the years I learned about all the things he had influenced in Scottsdale. He was a true visionary. You are missed Mr. Morrow.

Tom built a world of possibility for so many of us in the art world. The Celebration of Fine Art is a legacy that reaches far beyond Arizona, out across the country where hundreds of us are able to make a living creating because we have had the Celebration as our marketplace and our conduit to other paths to success. Tom's love of family included all of us and we will carry memories of him forward into our work.
