Gary Hinkle Obituary

Hinkle, Gary
Beloved husband & father Gary Allen Hinkle 69, passed away after succumbing to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Son of Jack Hinkle & Willadean Preston, Gary was born in Louisa, KY in 1945. After graduating from Camelback High School he enlisted in the Marine Corps, where he served honorably for 7 years, including two tours in Vietnam. Hired by Phoenix Police in 1969, Gary worked as a Field officer, Motor Officer, Vice Detective & Air Support Helicopter Instructor until his retirement in 1993. Gary then became a member of the Mesa Police for 14 years, serving as one of their original flight instructors. During retirement, Gary enjoyed his pets, fishing with his son, camping with his wife & riding his Harley with the Lost Brotherhood Motorcycle Club. Gary is survived by his wife of 37 years Kathleen; mother-in-law Dixie McCauley; brother Dan Hinkle; children Angela Hinkle, Brent Hinkle & Tina Brandes; & 4 grandchildren. Gary will be greatly missed but never forgotten by the countless people who knew & loved him.

I actually met Gary in 1999 or 2000 while I was briefly dating his son. We all went to the Nascar race and I had a great time hanging with Mr Hinkle. Gary was a class act, I am sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences to his family.

I met Gary back in 1999 or 2000, can't quite remember but I briefly dated his son Brent. We went and saw Nascar and I got to hang with Mr Hinkle-nice guy and a class act. I am sorry for the family's loss-
