Guido Brungardt Obituary
87 of Mesa, Arizona died November 12, 2014. Guy was born August 22, 1927 in Hays, Kansas. Guy loved life. Following an early retirement, Guy's hobbies included flying his glider plane, riding his Goldwing motorcycle and playing golf. His other loves were his family and his dog "Ace", and reading. He was an avid reader. Guy received his Bachelor's in Economics from Rockhurst University, Kansas City, MO. Guy was a businessman owning several restaurants. Guy was preceded in death by his father, Bernard J Brungardt, his mother, Clara Hartman Brungardt and his sister Juanita Smoot. Guy is survived by his daughter Karla K Benefield, daughter Linda G Rino, son Mark D Brungardt, daughter Celeste D Matzinger, Sister Dolores Olson, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and another on the way. A reception will be held Saturday at the Mariposa Gardens Hospitality Centre, 6747 E Broadway Rd, Mesa, AZ at 4 pm. Private memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Humane Society of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Mariposa Gardens Funeral Care. Guy Brungardt was my "first" boss at Tastee Freeze in Albuquerque, NM. My twin sister and I both worked for him during our high school years at West Mesa High (1972-74). We had a great time and have great memories working there with Mark and Linda. We were sad to hear of his death. Our deepest sympathy to his family. Lorraine Maes- Lewis and Marilyn Maes- Peterson

John and I will miss our neighbor, Guy. He was one of a kind! He always had a smile and a friendly greeting. He and Ace always brightened our day.

I worked for Guy when I was a junior in high school in 1969-70,at Guy's Tastee Freeze on West Central in Albuquerque. He was a good boss and to this day think he had the best taco's in town. Guy owned another Tastee Freeze right off I-40 and Coors in Albuquerque that I would frequent when I was older, just to eat those darn taco's. I don't mean to sound irreverent, but what I wouldn't give for the recipe for the taco meat. Blessings and Peace to you Guy.
