James Wendt Obituary

Wendt, James B.
Jim was born on Oct 7th, 1944 to Edith and Walter Wendt in Washington, D.C. He is survived by his brother, John Fredrick, and his niece, Taylor, along with a host of friends, many from the Blair (Silver Spring, MD) class of 1962. He was a two-time Maryland State Championship basketball player, and played on a basketball scholarship at American University from 1962 to 1966. Jim found sobriety July 20, 1979 and dedicated his life to the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous. A celebration of his life will be held at 2pm on November 16th at the Arizona Country Club, 5668 E. Orange Blossom Ln, Phoenix, AZ. Contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, or the Montgomery Blair Alumni Fund.

Jim was a lifelong friend of my father's and he became a part of our family and when we moved to Arizona. We loved breaking bread with Jim: Birthdays, Christmas, and so on were better with his great sense of humor and big smile. We will dearly miss him and loved him very much.
