Jane Smith Obituary
Scottsdale - Jane Kelley Smith passed away on December 4, 2018, in Scottsdale, AZ, due to complications of Alzheimer's. She was born in Bethesda, MD, on May 22, 1946, and raised in McDonough, GA. She was the daughter of Ernest Marvin Smith Jr. and Maude Kathryn Crumbley. Kelley (also known as Jane Kelley or Pip) attended Salem Academy in Winston-Salem, NC, and then Wellesley College in Wellesley, MA, before moving to Arizona in 1976. Kelley will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and spirit; her love of animals (both wild and domestic); her talent for painting; her fondness for music (singing and listening); and her characteristic laughs (and sneezes!). She will continue to be loved by her siblings, Kathryn Smith Kilbourne of Price, UT, and Marvin Smith of Tokyo, Japan; by her loving ex-husband, Douglas Limbert of Scottsdale, AZ; by her children, Lauren Limbert-Marion of Pasadena, CA, and Megan Limbert of Denver, CO; and by her kitty, Peachie. Donations can be made to the Arizona Humane Society.

Kelley as was my roommate at Salem Academy! we had such fun together breaking the rules! We have been out of touch recently but my memories are strong.

How sad that Jane Kelley's life was cut short due to this terrible disease. My deepest sympathy to all her family.
I'll always treasure memories of her as we were growing up together in McDonough. Over the decades distance never diminished our friendship as we kept up with each other's families at birthdays and at Christmas until she grew more and more unable to correspond. Thank you, Megan, for staying in touch with me. She was so proud of both of her girls and loved you so. God bless and keep you both.

My thoughts are with the family during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring you comfort. Knowing that there is hope for our loved ones lost in death can be reassuring.
