When Kelly married my brother we were lucky enough to also have Jan join our family. A warm, compassionate woman, always checked facebook to see her postings. Our family will miss Jan also: and Kelly and Cameron will always be part of us.

Gma Jan, we are truly better people for having known you. How lucky we all are. My Aunt Elizabeths words posted here speak so much truth, and when I see the brightest star shining at night Ill think of you and those beautiful words that hold so much meaning. On earth as it is in Heaven, shine on... ♥

I loved what my sister Elizabeth wrote about Jan. She could not have been more empathetic, compassionate, beautiful or a better friend. My husband Charley and I share a wonderful granddaughter and three great grandchildren with Jan, and we will always consider her family. Her loss has affected me profoundly and my heart aches for Jan's immediate family and my family as well. Jan was taken too soon and too unexpectedly and I pray for strength and understanding for all concerned, but especially for Mike and Kelly, so blessed to be able to call her mom. We're all right here Grandma Jan...keeping you in our hearts and loving you always!

To read here that the Humane Society is a cause for choice for Jan should come as no surprise. What did come as a surprise to me was that her middle name is Ruth which happens to mean humane. The origins of Ruth are biblical and connote an uncommon capacity for empathy, friendship, compassion and beauty. Has always been my favorite name and would have always addressed her as Janet Ruth had I known.
The abruptness with which one can be taken from our midst is so jarring
and as a member of Janet Ruth's extended family, I have witnessed the painful fallout. My deepest condolences to Mike, Kelly and Karsenwho will
Along with all grandchildren, keep Jan in our hearts. Janet Ruth, go claim your rewards!
