Jayne Dickey Bremyer, 88, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away gracefully at 5:20 a.m., Saturday, December 22nd, while in the company of family members after a life well lived, at the Cedars Courts, McPherson. Jayne was born in Charleston, West Virginia on November 12, 1924, a daughter of Nida (Dickey) and George Henry Williamson. Jayne graduated from Linden Hall High School, Lilitz, Pennsylvania. She attended Georgetown University in the District of Columbia where she enrolled in the Foreign Service School; Kansas University, Lawrence, Kansas and graduated from McPherson College, McPherson, Kansas with a degree in English. She was a member of First United Methodist Church McPherson, Kansas. Jayne was baptized at the Kanawha Presbyterian Church in Charleston, West Virginia and was a former member of the Valley Presbyterian Church in Paradise, Arizona
Jayne was a homemaker and author of published stories, articles, poetry, and books including novels, non-fiction, poetry, and especially inspirational self help. She was also a national speaker, seminar, and retreat leader. Jayne became certified in Hypnotism and as a hypno-mercy pain therapist. She also founded a hospice and served on its board for 10 years.
Jayne was a member of AY chapter of P.E.O. and Domestic Art Club both of McPherson, Kansas; National Speakers Association, Professional Hypnotists of America, and International Platform Speakers Association.
Jayne D. Williamson was united in marriage to John K. Bremyer on December 8, 1945 at Greenwich, Connecticut. John died on April 17, 2008.
Surviving family members include her three children, Jay Bremyer and his wife Sara, Jeff Bremyer and his wife Janie, and Jill Bremyer and her husband Richard Archer, all of McPherson, Kansas; her 9 grandchildren, Aaron Bremyer and his wife Dionne, Seth Bremyer, Kami Bremyer and her husband Vincent Carrazana, Matt Bremyer, Abbey Archer-Rierson and her husband Cody, Sam Archer, Allie Archer, Anna Archer, and Max Archer; three great-grandchildren Cruz Carrazana, Harper Rierson, and Vivi Rierson; other relatives and a host of friends.
Jayne was preceded in death by her parents, George and Nida (Dickey) Williamson; a grandson, Wade W. Bremyer; her husband John K. Bremyer; and her sister Georgeanne Kempff. Friends are invited to call on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Glidden - Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday January 2, 2013 at 3:00 p.m., at the McPherson Cemetery, McPherson, Kansas. The memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, McPherson, Kansas, at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 with Reverend Karen Rice-Ratzlaff officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to McPherson County Community Foundation in memory of Jayne and they can be sent in care of the Glidden - Ediger Funeral Home; 222 West Euclid Street; McPherson, Kansas 67460.
