John Pace Obituary

Pace, John David (Johnny)
69, joined his parents, Gilbert and Ophelia Pace and three brothers, Richard, Gilbert and Stanley Pace in Heaven on October 13, 2015. He was born March 30, 1946 and is survived by his wife, Kathy and her sons Ray and David. Johnny is also survived by four sisters, Anna Lee Pace, Sharon Pace Henson (Glenn), LaVerne Pace, all of Gilbert, AZ and Norma Pace Barnard (Don) of Atoka, OK. He will also be missed by nieces, nephews, and many close cousins. John was born in Tucumcari, New Mexico but, lived most of his life in the Phoenix area. He graduated from Mesa High School in 1964, and is a third generation Pace with parents and extended family coming to Arizona during the 1930's. John attended Phoenix College and ASU and worked as an Optician in Phoenix. John was a Vietnam Veteran and served two tours of duty in the United States Navy as a Boatswain's Mate on the USS Halsey, stationed at the DMZ near Da Nang. John stated he was exposed to Agent Orange during this 18 month period. Prior to his death, he acquired pancreatic cancer and suffered with it for over 3 years. John will be honored with a full military memorial service for Veterans on Thursday, October 29th at 1:30pm, at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ. Sorry my friends to be so long visiting this book. It is difficult to deal with the loss of my friend.
To Kathy, Know that he is in a better place. I know it has been a difficult time for you. So glad Valerie,Ray and David were there to assist you.
To Analee, Sharon and Lavern, So sorry you have lost your only surviving brother, he made the world a better place for all of us.

John has been a great neighbor to me. He was always helping me with my "projects" He was my taxi ride to the airport and Gingy's favorite stop on his walks! I will miss him a lot. Kathy, whenever you need anything, just call.
