John Rooney Obituary
76, passed away suddenly in Prescott, AZ on June 15, 2011. He was born on February 9, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois, was a 20 year resident of Lemont, IL and a 24 year resident of Gilbert and Chandler, AZ. Jack started "Little Jack's Peach Orchard" in Gilbert, AZ in the 1990's. He fulfilled his dream of building his own "real" log home in Prescott over 10 years. Jack was a gentle, caring, unselfish man; an ordinary man with extraordinary talents. He was also a 50 year member of Sheet Metal Workers, Local #73 in Chicago, IL. Surviving Jack is his loving wife of 54 years, Mary C. Rooney, (nee Broderick) and 5 loving children; Timothy (Donna)Rooney of Downers Grove, IL, Kathleen Rooney of Chandler, AZ, John (Lynne) Rooney of Boilingbrook, IL, Sheila (Todd) Dixon of Bettendorf, IA and Michael (Patricia) Rooney of Plainfield, IL. Also, 7 grandchildren; Daniel (Dr. Melissa) Rooney, Lorna (Nick) Chapman, Brett, Andrew, Meghan Dixon, Sean Rooney and Mira Wilson, brothers, James and Frank Rooney and sister Louise Powers. A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, July 12 at 10:00 am at St. Steven's Catholic Church, 24827 S. Dobson Rd., Sun Lakes, AZ 85248
