I think of Joe often, I miss his sarcastic sense of humor which always made me laugh and I miss his smile and gentle soul. Just thinking of him and wanted to put into words.

To The Burns Family...Please accept my heartfelt condolence on the passing of your son and brother. It had been my pleasure to know and work with Joe on the same team at American Express. Joe was a quiet, conscientious worker who was quick to offer a helping-hand, a smile and a "Good-Morning"...I will miss him and keep him in my prayers.

I worked with Joe for quite a few years at AMEX and had already missed him when he went to work in another department. He was always willing to help you and had a kind and gentle disposition. To me he was a steady rock. One day several years ago I asked him, "Hey Joe, how goes it?" "It goes," was his reply. From then on, that became our standard greeting to each other, even when I last talked to him a just a couple of months ago. My prayers are with all of his family and friends - God bless you all.

Joe was a wonderful person. I used to tease him all the time about being his girlfriend even though I was old and married. We shared moments and times. We walked together, sometimes we rode together, we worked together. He will truly be missed.

Joe was a very giving, caring and generous person. I worked with him closely at American Express and externally with several volunteer projects. He was always ready to support with volunteer projects and just about anything. He was a good friend who never asked for anything in return. Joe will always be in our thoughts and recognized as part of my group of angels...Oki's Angels. I will miss him and he will always be in my prayers. ...Bonnie Okiyama

Joe was wonderful to work with and he had a great sense of humour. He was always quick to help with anything that was needed around the office. He was involved in numerous charity events and always enjoyed being involved. I am glad that I had the opportunity to know Joe even for a short time. He will be greatly missed.

Joe was a wonderful person and an example for us all her at American Express. I have worked with Joe for the last 2years and have grown to be very fond and impressed with his accomplishments. He always had a smile and a joke to offer, he was very determined and always strived to do the best job he could do. Joe will always be in my heart and forever be a part of my AMEX family. He will surely be missed more than you could ever imaging. May God give peace and comfort to everyone at this time.
