Joseph Edward Driscoll, 84, of Scottsdale, AZ passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2014 surrounded by his family. Joseph was born April 24, 1930 in North Andover, MA to Grace and William Driscoll. He was raised on a farm in North Andover with his six siblings. While attending Johnson High School in North Andover, Joseph was an outstanding three sport athlete playing football, basketball and baseball. He also had a passion for ice skating and playing hockey. He then attended Merrimack College in North Andover and finished his studies in construction at Wentworth College. After college, he served in the United States Marines as an MP, 1952-1953, during the Korean War. In 1955 he married Irene Kennedy. They lived in Massachusetts and New Hampshire until their move to Arizona in 1979. Joseph is survived by his children Martin Driscoll (Jayne), Susan Ehland (Glenn), Melissa Christman (Neil), Alan Driscoll, Joseph Driscoll (Deborah), and James Driscoll, grandchildren Nicole Christman, Alexis Driscoll, Gage Driscoll, Keith Christman, Brianna Ehland, Chad Driscoll, Courtney Ehland, Luke Driscoll, Will Christman, sister Barbara Perry, and many beloved nephews and nieces. Joseph is preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years Irene, his daughter Elizabeth Driscoll, brothers William Driscoll and Paul Driscoll, sisters Grace Clancy, Eileen McManus, and Mary Byron. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 6 from 5 to 7p.m. at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary, 6500 E. Bell Rd., Scottsdale. A funeral mass will be on Monday, July 7 at 10a.m. at St. Bernadette's Church, 16245 N. 60th St., Scottsdale, AZ followed by an interment at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Phoenix, AZ.
