Joseph Ivey Obituary

Ivey, Joseph A. E. (Joe) Jr.
89 of Prescott, Arizona passed into Eternal Life peacefully, surrounded by loving family at his home, November 7, 2012. A third generation Arizona Native, Joe was raised in Tombstone, and attended Brown Military Academy in San Diego, CA, before entering the Army to serve his Country in WWII. Joe was proud of his Service and was a Purple Heart Recipient. Upon his return he Graduated in the first class of the College of Pharmacy, at the University of Arizona in 1950. Joe worked as a Pharmacist in various Drug Stores in the Phoenix area and retired as Pharmacist of Memorial Hospital. Joe was a Master Mason, Charter Member, Life Member, and Past Master of Sahuaro Lodge # 45, Phoenix, Past Patron of Glendale Chapter # 20, Thunderbird Chapter # 44, and Golden Rule Chapter # 1, Order of Eastern Star, and Past Grand Patron (1962-63) of the Grand Chapter of Arizona,OES. Joe was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Arline, and his older sister, Jane Buehman. He is survived by his wife of nearly 16 years, Carmen, son Joseph A. E. Ivey III (Lisa) of Oklahoma, daughter Judie Wooder (Tim) of Vernon, AZ, and daughter Marlo Kay Ivey (Tom Bailey) of Virginia, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A Celebration of his life will be held Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Noon at the Masonic Temple in Phoenix, 345 W Monroe, with Reception following. Interment, with Military Honors will be held at noon, Friday, December 28th in Tombstone AZ. In lieu of Flowers, Donations may be made to Good Samaritan Society, Prescott Hospice, 1065 Ruth St, Prescott, AZ 86301-1729 or Providence Hospice of Seattle, 425 Pontius Ave N Suite 300, Seattle W A 98109-5452
