Dear Joan, I share your sorrow and hurt for you also.I will never forget how pleasant it was to be with Kenny and his family once in while and to see his face light up when he greeted me as he did everyone ,I will miss that in the future. No matter how long it had been Kenny always remenbered me warmly and greeted me with sincerity with his famous smile. My family and I talked about him with sadness that we will not be able to experience his presence again on this earth, maybe later, I hope. Please may you gain strength from all the love your family and friends feel for you and as you have given others in the past. Love, Helen Sullivan

To My Brother With Love:
It’s been said that one of the deepest secrets of life is that the only thing really worthwhile is love ~ It’s what Kenny most valued in his life.

There are some who by their very presence stand out in life; Kenny is one of those persons. When meeting Kenny for the first time, one would never recognize the life hurdles he’d overcome. His indelible personality was marked by an easy smile, laughter, and an awesome sense of adventure. He possessed the highest personal integrity of anyone I’ve ever known, and I’m honored to be his sister.

Time and again, Kenny’s spirit was tested with hardships, yet his perseverance in faith and in hope anchored his soul in courage. His deepest struggles produced his greatest strengths; his fragility became the seeds of his supple enduring faith. He mastered affliction with wisdom and fortitude, and his grace causes me to look more deeply at life’s meanings and deepens my compassion. Kenny continuously grew in his capacity to channel his experiences into positive results; he had fixity of purpose, which provided him the stamina and courage to face and overcome any obstacle life presented him.

Our world seems a very far cry from the one promised us by faith; our experiences with injustice, suffering, and death seem to contradict the Good New of Our Lord. And, circumstances sometimes bring consequences we can neither comprehend nor cope ~ putting our faith to the test. But, Kenny had an extraordinary faith ~ which afforded him joy even during trials.

His pilgrimage of faith is the mark ~ it was the beginning of his eternal life, and it demonstrates for us the work of the Holy Spirit dwelling within him.

Kenny belongs to Christ; he chose faith. And, we are the beneficiaries of his presence.
God accompanied him always during his earthly pilgrimage. And, at his journeys end, we surrender him into the hands of our Heavenly Father. He is a child of His Grace, and he will rise in glory according to His Word.

At the evening of life, we shall be judged by our love ~ At the evening of his earthly life, Kenny enters into Everlasting Life.

I wish you a happy journey my loving brother. May you return to your Creator who formed you. May Blessed Mary, the holy angels, and all the saints greet you as you go forth from this life to meet God your Redeemer face-to face.

Go forth faithful Christian ~ You will live in peace this day; your home is with God.

I eternally love you Kenny, and I will miss you always ~ even in Heaven.

Nancy, Kids and the Eddo Clan,
Words are not enough to express the depth of loss that we feel when we loose someone we love. But as the scripture says, God intreprets our groanings. We don't really need words. He is the healer of our souls.
As a younger cousin of Kenny's I have several memories. One particular time when I was about 8 and Kenny much older. He got angry with me and I was terrified! I was sure he was mean through and through. But as a teenager I lived with my Aunt for a short time. Kenny and his small family lived there too for a time. It was then that I got to see the tender, and many times playful Kenny. Wet willies in my ear, and chasing me throughout the yard and house until he caught me and threw me in the pool! Also, gentle and genuine talks with Margaret and Nancy about life and God. It's past memories that we need to think about often and cherish. My prayers to you Nancy and kids. I Love you,

Barbi (Caster) Bongiovanni

Kenny,
We love you with all our hearts. What a blessing that we were just recently all together at the Caster Family reunion. You were just beaming with joy and happiness that entire weekend! You were able to spend time with all of us: your Mom, brothers, sisters and relatives that weekend. God was truly present in our lives. I praise God that our last moments together that weekend were spent in a seemingly endless hug and saying, "I love you with all my heart." Those were the last words I ever spoke to you. And, I thank God. I thank Him too for the gift of having you as a brother and as a friend; you meant everything to me. I just can't bear to let you go, even to our loving God. I'm sure you and Dad are enjoying each other's company; he's been waiting a long time to be with us. You'll be in good company until we meet again. Me heart is eternally broken; it's unbearable knowing I'll never see you again, until we meet in Heaven. I love you; I love you; I love you. Rest in peace my brother; you're in the arms of the angels. I will miss you deeply every day, even knowing you're in heaven. Our hearts are forever united in Christ Jesus.

As a brand new longshoreman I remember my first day at the Hall, I must have looked as confused as I felt, when out of a corner I see this friendly face looking at me that seemed to recognize what I was going through. This person came up and introduced himself as "ken" and told me not to worry that it wasn't as hard as it looked and proceeded to make sure that I learned all I needed to know during that long first week, I soon learned the tricks that I needed to know and where to line up. I also learned that Ken was a unique and generous Human being. I always made sure when I saw Ken to shake his hand, to me it was a way of saying Thank you and to remind him that I would never forget his generosity and kindness.
To the Family I must say that I am deeply saddened by your loss and thank you for sharing a wonderful Human being with us Longshoremen. He will be sorely missed.

Thank You

Nancy and Kids,

I was very shocked and sadden to hear of Kenny. I will hold great memories of him. Kenny greated every chapter in life with great dignity and respect. He held strong to his faith in God, his family and his values. Kenny never raised his voice but he would look directly into your eyes and with a soft and even tone, he would tell you what was on his mind, good or bad. However, when he laughed you could hear him wherever you were. One of Kenny's brothers gave me some great words when my own dad died, he said look into your hearts and you will always see your dad. So, Ivy, David, Shim and Josh, I hope those words help. Nancy you all our in our thoughts and prayers, thank God for 30 years.

Ken was friendly and fun to work with as a longshoreman. He was generous with his time to the less experienced "C" men. Everyone at the waterfront feels your loss.
