Kenneth Samuelson Obituary

Samuelson, Kenneth
84, of Rock Island, Illinois passed away on February 16, 2015 in Apache Junction, Arizona. Ken was born on March 23, 1930 to Ernest and Viola Samuelson in Fairfield, Iowa. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1948 to 1952. After the Navy, Ken worked as an accountant in the Finance Sales Division of International Harvester and Navistar International for 33 years. Ken married Jeannette Moore in January 1955. They made their home in Moline, Illinois and later in St. Paul, Minnesota where they raised their son Robert. After Jeannette's death in 1983, Ken married Evelyn "Babe" Libenguth in 2006. They made their homes in Rock Island, Illinois and Apache Junction, Arizona. Babe passed away in 2012. Ken was preceded in death by infant daughter, Sheryl; wife Jeannette; parents Ernest and Viola; and wife Babe. Those left to honor his memory include son Robert Samuelson and his wife Donna Daubendiek of Minneapolis, Minnesota; step-children Mike Beinke and wife, Jan, of Muscatine, Iowa; Sherri Harney of Des Moines, Iowa; Becky Resch and husband, Richard, of Rock Island, Illinois; and Kimberly Libenguth of San Diego, California; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the Superstition Sunrise RV Park Ballroom at 702 S. Meridian Road in Apache Junction. Funeral arrangements in Illinois are pending. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Honor Flight of the Quad Cities.
