Mr. Conrad will be sorely missed. Our deepest sympathy to the family. Our son, Collin, took french horn lessons for several years under his guidance. Such a kind and caring individual. His mother, Anita, went to Switzerland on a trip with a group that included my parents. They remembered her fondly. Such a small world and we were privileged to have Larry Conrad in it.

There are people you encounter throughout your life that change your course, set you on a good path, or guide you in ways that you cannot fully fathom at that time. One of those people in my life was Larry A. Conrad. Many of you who I count as friends have heard me recount how I came to play trombone. Larry Conrad is the band director at JB Sutton School who told me, "All I have left to rent is a trombone. Everything else is already taken. You could learn the trombone." Almost 5 decades later I am still learning the trombone. Under his guidance I was selected 1st chair trombonist in the ABODA all star band. I have had the opportunity to play with Maynard Ferguson, Buddy Rich, and too many musical venues to recount. I am certain that my life would have suffered if it were not for this man. God rest his soul and my heartfelt condolences to his wife and children.
