I am so sorry to hear of Mona's passing. She was a wonderful friend to my mother Edythe Estep. Mona was truly a light in this world, and her light continues to shine brightly. Much Love Miss Mona Kathy McKinney

What a beautiful soul and her smile was so contagious. How I would have loved to have seen her as she entered her new home. I know my Momma would have been waiting to welcome her with open arms. Mona brought sunshine with her everywhere she went. She gave me so many wonderful memories. My heart is heavy for our loss here on earth but I rejoice knowing that I will see her again someday.

My prayers are with all of the family.

I have included a picture of Mona, Larry and Daddy on one of their trips to our home on Burnt Bridge Rd many years ago.

Larry was Ron’s first sergeant at MPD. Mona graciously invited squad wives to her home for get togethers, even inviting my sister to come with me. I remember her wall of honor, completely covered with family pictures. I will always be grateful to Mona for welcoming me into the MPD family, for her friendship and guidance, and for the fabulous desserts she made. Thank you Mona.

I've never forgotten how kind and caring Mona was. When I got promoted she baked me a cake. What a winderful woman.

Mona would come into the Falcon Field Police Substation from time to time for a visit and would usually bring a dessert that I thought was the best I ever had. She shared that recipe with me and I made one just 2 days ago. I named it "Mona's Dessert" on my recipe card and thought lovingly of her each time I made it. It is strange how simple things brought us together and I do think of Mona and Larry quite often.
