Dr. Morris "Bunky" Barton

Dr. Morris "Bunky" Barton, passed away July 20, 2003, born November 6, 1928 in Selma Alabama. Dr. Barton was a prominent plastic and reconstructive surgeon residing in Phoenix, Arizona for nearly 40
years. Dr. Barton was a pioneer in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Barton attended Duke University , graduated from the University of Alabama and received his medical degree from The University of Tennessee School of Medicine. He was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, honoree medical society. After his internship at the Philadelphia General Hospital in Pennsylvania, he had residencies at The Kennedy Veterans Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, The Southern Pacific General Hospital in San Francisco and completed residency at Baylor University College of Medicine Affiliated HospitaIs in Houston Texas. Dr. Barton was a captain in the United States Air Force Medical Corp. during the Korean War at Carswel Airforce Base, in Fort Worth, Texas. Bunky was tremendously warm and outgoing. He instantly made everyone comfortable with his friendly demeanor, great personality. sense of humor and strong character. He instantly made people feel at ease, patients and friends alike. He was a keen athlete and enjoyed snow skiing, tennis, golf and swimming. He was a great lover of history, movies and Al Jolson. He is survived by his beloved wife, Beata Barton, his sons, Douglas Bruce Barton and Stuart Beauregard Barton, step sons Kelly and Troy Mero, daughter-In-law Cindy Mero, granddaughters Quin and Carson Mero, and brother Dr. David Barton. In lieu of flowers donations to the University of Tennessee Medical School would be appreciated. Memorial services to proceed at the Phoenix Country Club July 31, 2003, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
