Nina Tulumello Obituary

Tulumello, Nina Helen
91, died peacefully March 9, 2016 at her Tempe, AZ home. She was born February 3, 1925, in Brookville, PA. As a teenager, she moved to Buffalo, N.Y, where she later met her husband Joseph, a World War II Marine veteran. They were married in 1947. They moved to Arizona in 1961, and she worked at Motorola facilities in Phoenix and the East Valley, retiring as an executive secretary. She was a person of faith and a longtime member of the choir at the Church of the Resurrection in Tempe, where she made lifelong friends. She was part of the choir's performance at the Mass for Pope John Paul II at Sun Devil Stadium in 1987 and traveled with the choir to Europe to perform. She was active at the Tempe Senior Center and in other church activities, enjoying bingo and bridge. She also was a master solver of crossword puzzles. She loved sports. She attended the first Phoenix Suns game in October 1968 and became a lifelong fan, while also backing the Arizona State Sun Devils and other local teams. She loved and supported each member of her family, especially her grandchildren, going to their sports events and concerts. Her husband Joseph preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Ray Davidson; sister, Lena Siar; sons Michael (Kathy) and Angelo (Rauna); daughter, Lisa Collinsworth; grandchildren Andrew, Matthew, Jason, David, Hannah, Daniel, Joey, Steven, Shaun and Justin; great-grandchildren Jason Jr., Joseph, Lily, Ava, Clara, Caleb, Henry, Elijah and Hazel; niece Susan Collinsworth and numerous relatives in Arizona, New York, Pennsylvania and California. When someone you love dies, you never quite get over it...You just slowly learn how to go on without them...But always keeping them safely tucked in your heart...that is where Nina resides with me.
