Peter La Prade Obituary
passed away peacefully, at age 64, on April 23, 2012. Peter was a loving husband, an amazing father, brother, son, caring uncle and friend. He was a generous, kind, and outgoing man. His smile was contagious, his head was never without a baseball cap, and he had a laugh and a whistle that could be heard a mile away. He is survived by his loving wife Patti La Prade, of 24 years, daughter Rebecca La Prade, and brother John La Prade. Peter was the oldest of three children born in Palo Alto, California and raised in Paradise Valley, Arizona. He resided in Scottsdale, Arizona with his wife and daughter. Peter will be greatly missed by all those who have been blessed to know him. He was actively involved in charity work, an avid golf and football fan, a lover of books, and most importantly gave his heart and soul to his family and friends and anyone he met. A funeral service celebrating Peter's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 1st at Scottsdale Bible Chapel, 7901 E. Shea Blvd., Scottsdale, with a viewing one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation, 10 Rockefeller Plaza, Suite 1007, NY, NY 10020. I feel so very honored to have known Peter and am so very grateful he was such an amazing friend and confidant to my husband, Patrick. He was a one of a kind human being. He gave so unconditionally to everyone he cared about as well as strangers. The world was a better place because of Peter's example & presence. I know Patti & Becca are going to have a big void in their lives, but you know Peter would have wanted you both to carry on and live life until you are all together again. My love and prayers are with you both. God Bless you both.

I knew Pete at Stanford in Britain, and I and his other classmates are grieving at his loss. I remember his bright humor, gentleness, faith, and kindness with particular thanks to God.

I have only had the opportunity to meet Peter a few times through my friendship with Patti and Rebecca. He was such a gentle sweet man who would move heaven and earth for his favorite girls! His beautiful smile will forever be remembered.

Peter was a true gentle giant. He had a warm smile and hug for all he met. His constant quest to improve himself and be the best human he could be will always stay with me. I am enriched by having known him.
