Peter Mara Obituary
Glendale - Lt. Col. Peter Mara, 90, of Phoenix, passed away on September 2, 2018. He was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts on August 26, 1928. He joined the U.S. Air Force on June 5,1946. He was in the Korean war from 1950-1951. He started as an enlisted man and was commissioned while on active duty to a First Lieutenant. He continued his military career and retired in 1988 as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Connie Mara. Peter leaves behind to carry his legacy his daughter Julie Miller, sons Glenn and Ed Mara, three grandchildren, Rick Miller, Jr., Jeff Miller and Christopher Mara and two great grandchildren, Skyla and Anthony Mara. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 10, 2018 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 6180 W. Utopia Rd, Glendale. Visitation time will be held from 9-945 am, a Rosary at 945 am and a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 1030 am. A Committal Service with Military Honors will be held at 1:30pm following Mass at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix.
