Judith Fay Ashmore

Judith F. Ashmore, age 83, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026 in Glendale, AZ.

She was the widow of Vincent T. Ashmore who preceded her in death in 2000. They were married on December 21, 1961 and shared 38 years of marriage together.

Judy was born in Milwaukee, WI on September 12, 1942. She was the daughter of Richard and Hilda (Kuopus) Bartels. She attended Immanuel Lutheran Christian Day School in Milwaukee, WI and graduated from Central High School in Phoenix, Arizona in 1960.

Judy joined the US Navy in 1960. She went to bootcamp in Bainbridge, MD and was stationed at the US Naval Training Center in San Diego, CA where she met her husband Vince who was a US Marine stationed at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, CA.

She and her family were long time members of Lutheran Church of the Master in Phoenix, AZ. Judy was most recently a member of Life in Christ Lutheran Church in Peoria, AZ.

After raising 3 children, Judy worked as a Real Estate Agent in the greater Phoenix area for over 35 years.

Judy is survived by her children Kristine Hitaffer (Thomas), Thomas Ashmore (Jennifer) and Karen Dooley (David), her 8 grandchildren Scott (Anushka), Shannon (Andy), Andrew (Ashley), Kathryn, Olivia (Troy), Bradley, Emma and Brody, great granddaughter Laura, and her companion Walter Houle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her sisters Deanna Stritof (Martin) and Susan Nash (Allen).

Services are scheduled for Sunday, March 1st at Life in Christ Lutheran Church at 14802 N. 75th Avenue Peoria, AZ 8538. Visitation from 2:00-3:30pm and Funeral Service at 4:00pm. Interment will be Monday, March 2nd at 11:00am in the Garden of Prayer at Green Acres Cemetery 401 N. Hayden Road Scottsdale, AZ 85257.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking for memorial donations to The Alzheimer's Association, Life in Christ Lutheran Church and Uplift Hospice in Scottsdale.
