Sandra McMahon Bainbridge

Sandra McMahon Bainbridge (77) passed away on February 11th, 2026 in Phoenix, Arizona. Originally from Kingsley, Iowa she was born on August 30, 1948 to Eugene and Marjorie (Spaan) McMahon. Sandy married Craig Bainbridge on December 28, 1969. She graduated from Morningside College in 1970 with a BA in Elementary Education.

Sandy was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Sioux City where she sang in the choir and played the organ on many occasions. She spent many years volunteering for various organizations in the Siouxland area including: St. Luke's Regional Medical Center, Morningside College, The Sioux City Symphony, Boys and Girls Home, Girls Inc., Sioux City Chamber Music Association, Mary Elizabeth Day Care Center, The Council on Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence, KWIT, The Junior League of Sioux City, and Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Sandy was a voracious reader, a quilter, and world traveler. She will be remembered for her generous spirit, her musical talents, especially her singing, and her love for life.

She is survived by her husband, Craig, her brother Jim (Kathy) McMahon of Superior, CO, her children Kirk of Carlisle, IA, Mark (Christine) of Phoenix, AZ, Ashley (Tim) Rivers of Valley Village, CA, and seven grandchildren: Wesley, Colin, Mallory (Carlisle, IA), Oscar, Ruth (Phoenix, AZ), Charlotte, Katelyn (Valley Village, CA).

Services will be held at Pinnacle Presbyterian Church in Scottsdale, AZ on March 6th at 10:00 a.m. Internment will take place at the Kingsley cemetery at a later date.
