If not my favorite teacher of all time, he was close to it. My DECA teacher in Yuma, at Kofa High School in 1976-1977. He and I would play basketball in the gym after school. He had that sweet left handed shot. I miss you Mr. S.

My name is Peter Schwiebert too. I live in San Jose but work for Microchip in Chandler. A few weeks ago, during a big get together in HQ, one of Peter's students hunted me down to talk about how wonderful he was. I'm proud to carry his name and mine. I hope to live up to his example but it's a high bar from what I have learned.

I was a student of Mr. Schwiebert's way back in 80-82. I have kept in touch with him since graduation. Just had lunch with him in May with two other of his students from my time. I am so sorry for the families loss. Mr. Schwiebert (in which he laughed at that I still called him that), had the highest respect from me and so many others. He made my high school years enjoyable which was a true blessing as I really did not like school. Please know Ehren, Andy and his entire family are in my thoughts and prayers. May God be with you all. Thank you Mr. Schwiebert for who you were and for your friendship for so many years.

I can't begin to say how sorry I am that the world is without such great man. I never had a class with Mr. Schwiebert, but he always had kind words and good advice to share with all the students at Greenway. Years after high school, as I was beginning my career in education, he was there to lend good advice and a kind ear. He will be missed. My prayers go out to all his family.

I have been so blessed to have worked with Peter for the 6 years I have been at Greenway. His humor was always a bright spot in my day. He worked tirelessly in the Anti-Defamation Peer Training and Unitown programs and lived those ideals in his personal life. He spoke often of his love for his wife and children and we argued often about whose grandchildren were the best looking. I know "Bumpa" will be missed greatly. How he loved his grandchildren. To his family, please accept my most heartfelt condolences.

My prayers are with the family as they mourn the loss of a father, brother, son, husband and friend. Memories are a beautiful blesseng God gives us to hold on to forever. Mr. Schwieberts words to encourage me with my son were unforgetable. He was always available and willing if I had a question or my son needed to talk to him. He was also an inspiration for my son in DECA, Bowling and as a Counselor. A part of him will always be in all those who he touched hopefully to carry on to their children. You could certainly tell through conversation and his office that his family was first in his life. I know his children will pass on his ability to touch kids lives. May you feel Gods Peace during this difficult time.

It was with great sadness that I learned of Mr. Schwiebert's death. I graduated from Greenway in '90, and had Marketing and Merchandising with him. He emulated everything that a high school teacher should be: warm, compassionate, caring and dedicated. My daughter is now a freshman at Greenway, and I had wished she had him as a counselor, but that was not to be. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family--I went to school with Ehren (although I was older) and I graduated with Chris. I feel almost silly crying over a teacher from 15 years ago, but I guess that speaks for the kind of impact he had on all our lives. You will be missed...

I am sure I am not the only one to express my complete adoration for one of the most amazing teachers in the world - Schwiebee! I was deeply saddened to hear of your passing. You made my high school years so much fun by incorporating Toast Masters and stories of Effie Ledohowski. You always had a way of making me smile and to this day I still use the "game show" phrase in my own classroom. I will cherish your memory today and everyday!

Just heard the devastating news...
Heaven is a more cheerful place with Mr. S there, but earth and especially Greenway will be all the sadder without his smile. He saw and encouraged the best in each of his students, and took the time to listen to frustrated kids and parents alike. His style and humble professionalism will be greatly missed. Our family sends prayers, that his family will find comfort from our loving LORD. We are so sorry for your immense loss.

Mr. Schwiebert was a very significant person in my life when i was falling behind in my studies and personal problems, he gave me special attention, coaching me back to a successful path. His humor and caring personality will be missed, but never forgotten. He will live on through his students and the lives he has touched.

My two sons, Tim and Matt, were students of Pete Schweibert's in Marketing/DECA. He had a very positive impact on both of them in a number of ways. He taught diligence, attention to detail, desire to succeed, teamwork and pride in effort. Just as important he taught both of them that teachers truly can be among the best friends you'll ever have. He was outstanding! My husband and I will be forever grateful for him and want to express our sincere sympathy and prayers to his family.

I was surprised at how many people I talked with knew and cherished the name Peter Schwiebert. Inside the Greenway community and out, Mr. Schwiebert had the uncanny ability of making every person he came in contact with his friend. He would always charm you with his goofy, left-handed humor and wit. As my counselor, he did everything he could to make sure I had the keys to unlock any door in the world. And, if he could, he’s give a person the world if they would ask him for it. Mr. Schwiebert’s contributions to this community cannot be measured, and will be deeply missed.
My heart goes out to all of Peter’s family and the Greenway community.

Mr. Schwiebert was one of the most supportive and encouraging teachers I have ever come in contact with. His words of wisdom got me and many of his students through rough time. I am very sad to hear that he is no longer with us. He will always hold a very special place in my heart. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Pete was our son David's soccer coach, some 20+ years ago... what a nice, pleasant, man! More recently we would run into him at David Kwans Chinese Buffet, one of his favorite lunch places!

Mr. Schwiebert was a big part of my high school years. I was treasurer of DECA 1983-1984. I also had the pleasure of having lived next door to him and his family. I babysat Ehren and Andy when they were young. I can remember him out front practicing soccer with his boys, and popping a great number of soccer balls on our cactus. He would embarrass me by exaggerating my Boston accent, or by telling everyone in marketing or merchandising he caught me in my pj's cleaning up my front yard after a decorating job of toilet paper. My family and I were shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Mr. Schwiebert was Aces and will be missed!

Oh, Schwiebie, I will miss you dearly. My favorite memories of high school were from your class and from the DECA conferences. I will never forget the positive influence you had on my life and David's. Thanks for not only being a great teacher, but a friend as well. David and I would not be together today if it weren't for you getting us that job together senior year. May God bless your family during this difficult time. You will be missed by many...

There's no doubt about it that Mr. Schwiebert's death was sudden and unexpected, and I surely hope that his family knows that we are all praying for them during this tough time.
If there was one thing I could tell him today it would be "thank you." He has helped me so much in the past four years. If it wasn't for him, I would've never discovered marketing, and it's because of this discovery, I'm planning on majoring in marketing when I go to college.
Once again, my prayers go out to his family, friends, fellow staff, and students, and furthermore, thank you Mr. Schwiebert.

Mr. Schwiebert had a profound impact on my academic career both at Greenway and at U of A, where I studied (among other subjects) Marketing, largely due to his influence. I send my sympathy to the family. My heart goes out to you. I only met Mr. Schwiebert twice when my daughter had a counseling session with him about future classes and scholarships. He was very helpful and made the high School career very stress free right from the beginning. My daughter was accpted into the College of her choice and she never had a chance to tell him. Thanks MR. S for helping her out. You will truly be missed.

"Schwiebie" was my teacher in 81-82 in Marketing and DECA. His wonderful sense of humor and great wit was such a joy to be around. He truly had a gift for connecting with his students. My mind is just flooded with tons of happy memories of all the trips we took with DECA, and just everyday stories in his class. To Mr. Schwiebert's family- I'm so sorry for your loss. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. I hope it brings you some comfort in your heart knowing just how loved Schweibie was by so many of us.

I remember a man who loved to laugh, who brought us to the same laughter there in the middle of an otherwise very ordinary high school campus. And stories too... there were so many stories he told us - I smile thinking of them now, twelve years later! My thoughts are with you Andy and Ehren - he was a very special teacher and man.

Peter and I had the wonderful opportunity to work together for a year and a half at Greenway High School. We often ran into each other in the hall so much that we would stop saying "hi" and just smile graciously at each other. He would always have the same contagious impression about himself. That he was happy where he was at everyday and that he truly cared about students and the care in counseling he gave them.
I will be truly missed and remembered often.
My blessing to his family.

Although, I never had Mr Schweibert as a teacher, I knew of him on campus. I also went to school with Ehron since we were very young, as well as with Michelle. I am very sorry for your loss, and though words cant take away your pain, I hope you have peace in knowing what a great man he was.

I was very saddened to hear that Schwieb passed away. He was the only teacher at school that made classes fun. I was lucky enough to be one of the "chosen" to be in the marketing, and the Sr. year class. He influenced me very much and my family was often subject to stories of Schwieb and what happened that day. The trips for DECA only helped him with fuel for his jokes. He will be greatly missed. His family is in my thoughts & prayers.

Mr. Schwiebert was my most favorite person at Greenway. i enjoyed stopping in as much as possible to talk with him about baseball and whether or not i should go to a university. In the end i chose u of a and could not be happier and have him to thank for the input he gave me through these last few years. I will never forget his support and encouragement through bowling, classes, and which career was best for me. i was very blessed to have had him as not only an advisor but also as someone who just seemed to really care for others. i will never forget the knowledge he gave me and the way he touched my life.

I am so grateful that Mr. Schwiebert was a part of my life. He was a wonderful teacher, and I was very lucky to have him not only as my DECA teacher from 1993-1995, but also as a constant support during my time as a DECA state officer from 1994-1995. I was very fortunate to remain friends with him since graduating high school, and I will sorely miss our talks and hearing the happiness in his voice when he talked about his wife, his children, and especially his grandchildren.
