I first met Pete when I was about 14 and it completely changed my life. My father was not around at this time, but Pete was. Through the hardest times of my life he was always there with love and support. He became a father to me and my brother. I always wanted him to be proud of me because I loved who he was and what he stood for. He was a honest soul and a amazing man. He loved his family and his friends. In my heart I will always think of him as my dad. I will always cherish the moments I had with him in my life. In my heart he will always be my dad. I will miss him everyday and everyday I will try to make him proud. He helped me become a better person and that I will always be thankful for. This has been such a hard loss and I am so thankful for Frank and Sammy who have helped us get through it. We will miss you Pete and you will always be our favorite coach. I love you and I will always smile thinking about you.

My heartfelt condolences to the family of Coach Pete Tuccio. He was a wonderful man who played a major role in the development of countless young men and women at Carl Hayden High School, me included. First, he was an excellent teacher. I was in his World History class my Junior year. He made it interesting and relevant. His greatest impact on my life was as my basketball coach, mentor and surrogate father. I treasure the wonderful memories of playing for him as a member of the Varsity Basketball Team, but I value even more, the quiet, reflective moments of conversation about good sportsmanship, what it means to be a man, taking responsibility for your actions, and always be respectful and kind to others. I graduated from Hayden in 71' and moved away from Phoenix in 75'. My only regret is that I didn't get a chance to tell Pete in person, how much I appreciate the role he played in helping me be the person I am today.
Rest in Peace Coach

To the family of Coach Tuccio,
Your Father was an amazing man. He was a great role model for the students at Carl Hayden, both in the classroom and on the basketball court. My family went to CHHS from the beginning until 1969. But we continued go to the football and basketball games over the years. My brother, Steve enjoyed Coach Tuccio's friendship since his high school days. He made a difference in so many lives of CHHS students over many decades. Your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
Fondly,
The Setka Family
