Rene' Rivera Obituary
October 21, 2004. He was born August 7, 1970 in Phoenix. Rene' is survived by his mother, Nellie Cota Cleary; father and step-mother, Noel and Judy Rivera; half brother and half sister, Leno and Lori in addition to his loving fiance', Tina Pace. Rene' meant more to his family and friends than words can describe. Surrounded by an abundance of loving family and friends, he will be joyfully remembered in our hearts forever. A celebration of his life with visitation from 5-8PM and rosary at 7PM, Thursday, October 28, 2004, Hansen Chapel, 8314 N. 7th St.. Phoenix. Funeral mass will be held at 12 noon, Friday, October 29, 2004, St. Simon and Jude Cathedral, 6351 N. 27th Ave., Phoenix. Interment will follow mass at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery.

My deepest condolences goes out to all of Rene's family. I am Lisa Segar's aunt (Lisa was Rene's ex-wife). I will never forget Rene'. He was a very gentle, kind and loving person. He will be extreemly missed, but I know he is still with us in spirit. Don't be afraid to call out his name, cause I know he'll be there by you to compfort you. We were deeply saddened to hear of the loss of Rene. We knew Rene a short time. We had the pleasure of meeting Rene thru Tina. Tina has been apart of our family for so many years that whenever we had a family function she was there. We were very fortunate to have Tina bring Rene into our family. He was the light of her life. Tina was much happier everytime we got together and we knew it was because she had Rene in her life. What a tragedy for such a kind man to leave us so young. I know the Lord is taking care of Rene. Rene we know that you will be taking care of your family and watching over them. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. We will take care of Tina.

Rene was a truly special person and will be missed by many. Reading through this guest book shows how much he is loved and will be missed. Nothing could ever make the pain go away but, I hope you take comfort in all the lives that he touched. I was fortunate to get to know Rene' through his cousin and my deer friend, Dani Lu. I know Rene' will be missed deeply by everyone that knew him. It is not for us to know why God works this way, but he must have needed Rene in heaven with the angels. Rene had a beautiful & happy disposition. God wanted everyone in heaven to share this too. My deepest condolences go out to Rene's family. He was a wonderful person. Rene' and I go way back.....to bike riding, playing in the neighborhood days, gradeschool, highschool and even afterwards...though not as much. There were A LOT of good times him and I shared and I will always carry and cherish those memories. The next best thing to knowing Rene' is remaining close with his family.....Nelli, Romi, Dani Lu, Debra, etc.....and many more of you. Thank you for being such a wonderful group of people. I worked with Rene at Keesler Federal Credit Union. When I first started I thought I had made the worst mistake in the world and everyone was gone except for me and Rene' He quickly helped me out and made me feel much better. I had the Pleasure of nowing Rene for sometime. He was a wonderful person to be around. His smile would light up everyone in a room and you knew instantly you loved this guy. If you were with Rene out in town you couldnt go anywhere and not run into someone, somewhere along the way that knew him and loved him as much as we all did. Tina and the Rivera Family,
We are very saddened by the passing of Rene. We have only known Rene for a short time, but we have known Tina since childhood. It hurts us to see the hurt and pain that she is experiencing. Rene was truly her soul-mate and they were meant for eachother. Rene picked Tina up from a low point that she was having in her life and took care of her. Rene showed Tina that there are good and decent men out there. Rene was one of a kind and showed his honest and true colors everyday. It is going to be very hard not seeing that smile Rene always had on his face, and the smile that was always on Tina's face, when they were together. Rene, we will always remember you and we will miss you. Rene, please watch over Tina and your family during this rough time. You will be in our hearts forever!

I went to grade school and high school with Rene. As most people do, we lost touch after graduation. So I haven't seen him in a very long time. However,I feel compelled to tell you that Rene made a lasting impression on me. I remember him being very kind to me in elementary school when I was "the new kid". In high school, I remember him always smiling. I LOVED his smile and sense of humor.
