Dear Coffman family,
My deepest condolences for the loss of your mother. She was such a dear woman, especially sweet to all us neighborhood kids. One day, probably about 25-30 years ago, I had the good fortune to cross her path. She asked me how I was doing. I said "Great! I've become a Christian!" A tear came to her eye and she exclaimed, "Oh praise God ... I've been praying for all you (neighborhood) kids for so long." That was when a tear came to MY eye. What an inspiration to me!
Thank you all for sharing your mother with so many. We certainly KNOW where she is right now (1 John 5:13)! Proverbs 4:18 says, "The path of the righteous is like the light of dawn that shines brighter and brighter until the full day". That is certainly an accurate description of your beloved mother. God bless you all!

To the family of Rita Coffman --
Loretta (Coffman) Scholtz called to inform us of Rita's death. Please accept our sincere sympathy. We trust that your fond memories of your mother, mother-in-law and grandmother will sustain you during this time. We had the opportunity of meeting Rita and Carl several years ago in Mesa when some of the Coffman "clan" met for a fish fry to commemorate the end of another winter visit to the Valley. And we have communicated with Loretta over the years; she has been most helpful in providing family history for the John Henry Coffman line. If we can be of any assistance in providing any family history for John Henry or his father John Robert Coffman, we would be most happy to do so.
Again, we extend our sympathy.

P.S. - We understand your grief; on Jan. 4 we buried Sharon's father, Clifford Coffman, in Lawrence, KS. As you may know, Clifford's father, George Washington Coffman, and John Henry Coffman were brothers.
