Macari, Rita Kay
60 of Scottsdale, passed away, April 15th 2014. Born August 12th 1953 in Columbus, Nebraska to Arlen Beck (who proceeded her in death) and her mother Marian Beck. Rita went to be with her Lord surrounded by family and friends, she is survived by her husband Peter Macari of 34 years and her daughter Rachel, her stepson Darin Macari and daughter-In-Law Sara Lee with their two grandsons and three granddaughters. She is also survived by her sister Cheryl Lawson her husband John and their children Amanda and Gregory as well as many other aunts, uncles and cousins. Rita was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, and will truly be missed by all who knew her. She was loved by all and touched many lives with her generous and loving personality. We have been immensely enriched by knowing her. She was one of the original founders of the women's bible study at Shepherd of The Desert and led several of the study groups thereafter. She was a talented soprano that sang and soloed many a service with her beloved church choir as well as performed numerous years with the Arizona Arts Chorale. She met every challenge she faced with courage and unyielding determination. Rita was dedicated to her career but above all else her family. A visitation is scheduled for Friday April 25th from 5PM to 9PM at Messinger Mortuary 7601 E. Indian School Rd. Scottsdale AZ. Services will be held at 10AM Saturday, April 26th at Shepherd of The Desert Lutheran Church 9590 E. Shea Blvd. Scottsdale AZ, with reception to follow at the church. Resting place will be at Paradise Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rita's honor to the Cancer Treatment Center at Mayo Clinic and/or to Shepherd of The Desert Lutheran Church where she was a loved, and devoted member.
