Robert Busch Obituary

Busch, Robert A
88, of Ahwatukee, AZ passed away on November 7, 2014. Robert was born in Detroit on Dec. 24, 1925. He lived a full and productive life until his death after an accident in a golf cart. Bob was an active, enthusiastic man who possessed more than his share of energy and vitality. Born poor, he used this as motivation to become educated and a successful financial executive. Bob served in WWII as a radioman on a Navy sub-chaser. After the war, Bob earned his accounting credentials from Walsh Inst and Wayne State, becoming (at 21) the youngest state auditor ever hired by Michigan. Later he became Controller of Bingham Corp in Chicago, then ultimately a trustee for the US Bankruptcy Court in Arizona. He greatly enjoyed helping his clients resolve their financial woes. They often responded by writing letters of heartfelt appreciation to him. Bob was an avid writer (one of his many interests). He authored and contributed to books on personal financial management, wrote 50 short stories, and two mystery novelettes. For eleven years he wrote a regular editorial column for the Pinewood News titled "Have You Ever Considered" that was very much appreciated by the local community. At Betty's urging, he recently completed his memoir. Its last paragraph reads: "Whatever life has given me, good and bad, I have no regrets. I have believed in working hard, I have believed in liking and loving people. I have had a good life, a wonderful wife, great children; I have enjoyed the ride." Bob married his high school sweetheart, Betty. They had planned to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary this spring with a reunion of their extended family. Robert is survived by his four children, Gary, David, Scott & Karen; eight grandchildren, Ceara, Jesse, Leah, Andrew, Adriene,
Bryna, Julie & Jason; and seven great-grandchildren, Kelen, Mia, Megan, Ellie, Jackson, James & William. A Memorial Service will be held at Mountain View Lutheran Church, 11002 S. 48th St at 12:30P on Sunday, Nov 23.

Dear Betty & Family,
I was saddened to read of Bob's death recently. It has been many years (1980's?) since I worked for Bob and have not seen either one of you in a long time. You are to be congratulated on your long married life. May your good memories help sustain you in the months to come.
Sincerely,
Beverly Watt

Dear Betty and Family,
Bob was one of Ray's first steady golf partners. Ray always enjoyed golfing with him and would always relate the event of the day.
Although I did not know Bob as well as you, I will always remember his great smile when he was on the putting green and would locate you in the pool and blow you a kiss. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Love, Dee Ringer

Although we knew Bob for a short time (one year), it was a privilege to have him and his wife, Betty, for a next door neighbor. Betty and family, we are so sorry for your loss.

Betty, You have received a great gift having Bob with you for so many years. Though he will be greatly missed, you will always have a special place in your heart for him, a place that only a husband and wife can share. God bless him and keep him close and may you and your family have peace. Big hugs to you...
