Ronald Burt Obituary

Ronald D. Burt of Phoenix, Arizona passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at the age of 78. He was the beloved husband to his wife, Dona for 56 years, proud father of his sons, Brian, Steven and Bradley, and loving grandfather to his grandchildren, Brianna and Benjamin. Ron was born on October 20, 1929, in Nuckolls County, Nebraska. His loving parents were Ruby and Vernon Burt. Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Larry, his son Steven, and his sister-in-law, Eunice Counts. Ron is survived by his sister Beva Olson and her husband, Roc, by brother Gordon and his wife Sharon, and by sister Connie Bunting and her husband, Jerry. He is also survived by his "family by marriage" - his beloved brothers-in-law, Earl Counts, and Alex Ranciglio, and his sisters-in-law, Helen Davis, and E.J. Ranciglio. He had many nieces and nephews - all of whom he loved and cherished. Pastor Burt had a very rewarding and joy-filled ministry for 56 years. He was ordained into the ministry in September, l95l at his home church in Clay Center, NE. He served pastorates in Clay Center, NE, First Christian Church in Chicago, IL, First Christian Church in Garnett, KS, and First Christian Church in Phoenix, AZ for 22 years. He "retired" to and just completed a 7 year ministry as Chaplain at Christian Care Fellowship in Phoenix. He had a wonderful sense of humor and yielded many times to his wife's expectations to put on a costume and "just act silly". He loved riding behind his sons' on their Harley or Honda "bikes". Ron cherished his black leather jacket - but his priorities were always that he loved His Lord and Savior with all of his heart, mind and soul, he treasured his Ministry to others and he was passionate in his love to and for his family. Ron was a gentle, kind man who had time for anyone who needed encouragement. Recently, his loving attendants at Coronado Hospice House gave back the love they received from him, in so many kind ways. We thank them sincerely. "Well done, thou good and faithful servant, enter now into your rest". Public viewing will be held on Saturday, December 1st, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Hansen Mortuaries, 8314 N. 7th St., Phoenix, AZ, 85020. Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, December 2nd at 2:00pm at First Christian Church, 6750 N. 7th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ, 85013

I will never forget how he helped me through a terrible time in my life. His wisdom and love for the Lord were great. He was the most humble man I ever met. He would never take any credit for his actions or help, always giving all credit to the Lord. I loved him, I miss him but I am so happy knowing where he is right now.
